Make Space for Imagination at the IKEA Space Camp – This weekend June 13 & 14

Travel to infinity and beyond at IKEA this weekend when the home furnishing retailer we all love hosts the IKEA Space Camp. There will be fun-filled activities from 10am to 2am (next morning) where you, bubba and all the family can have a blast!

Both IKEA Tampines and IKEA Alexandra stores will transform into a solar system as they bring this family event of astronomical proportions and Make Space for Imagination!

THE SPACE CADET PROGRAMME will see 3 to 12 year olds heading to the Craft Command Centre and starting on their adventure, once they complete their mission in any two activities they will receive a $5 IKEA gift card as well as a chance to win a free bedroom makeover worth $10,000.

We took a sneak peek at one of the activities that will be on offer.  Our Editor, Clare Victoria went along with her family to ‘Build a Spaceship’!  Using recycled household items they had great fun cutting, glueing, colouring and brain-storming as a family to build their truly ‘out of this galaxy’ spaceship!

As well as Build a Spaceship, other activities on offer will be Design a Space MonStar using recycled materials, cupcake decorating class as well as the Martionator drawing contest where 5 lucky winners will have their alien drawings transformed into soft toys.

Of course, when bubba sleeps the adult spacemen and spacewomen will have some fun too. You can drop by the IKEA restaurant for a Space Supper, check out the Galaxy Backyard Sale for huge savings or come dressed as a Martian and Moonwalk home with a $50 IKEA Gift Card!

This 2-day celestial carnival is on June 13 and 14, with extended opening hours until 2am. Have some great family fun orbiting and exploring the IKEA galaxy.
