GROUNDBREAKING CEREMONY FOR EARLY YEARS EDUCATION AT THE AUSTRALIAN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Come 2017, the Australian International School will be the only International School in Singapore to commence from 18 months with their Early Years Education Centre.

At a groundbreaking ceremony, of the Early Years Education Centre at the Australian International School (AIS), we learnt of plans to establish a campus complete with the widest range of state-of-the-art facilities for students from 18 months to 6 years old.

This specialist early years campus will offer children access to a 22 meters swimming pool, 470 square meters multi-function hall, 5 library and learning resource centres, 9 arts and language specialist classrooms and a dedicated parent café, all in one centrally-located facility.

Inaugurated by His Excellence General the Honourable Sir Peter Cosgrove AK, MC (Ret’d), Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia and Lady Cosgrove, this groundbreaking ceremony leads the way to the campus, set to open in 2017 next to the existing AIS facility at Lorong Chuan.  This Early Years education centre will house teaching and learning for an enhanced Early Years curriculum that launches at AIS this coming January (2016).

Speaking at the ceremony, Sir Peter Cosgrove said;

“International schools not only offer a wonderful life experience they also provide an education and a curriculum that meets every child’s needs, whether it be the NSW Higher School Certificate, the British iGCSE or the increasingly popular Baccalaureate programme”.

As he continued, Sir Peter Cosgrove expressed his pleasure to be a part of the ceremony and to see the ties of education and friendship between Australia and Singapore develop and grow even further.

While this is truly a great step to bringing Early Years education to International schools, this is also a groundbreaking investment to Early Years education worldwide; “at $200 million, this is the largest worldwide investment for a dedicated Early Years campus.  This will offer children at AIS a strong academic foundation as well as an early passport to success” – said Brian Rogove, CEO at Cognita Asia.
