Delicate scents from all lilies that are the highlight of the latest exhibition here at the Gardens by the Bay – Lilytopia

The first thing that welcomes you when you enter the Flower Dome at Gardens by the Bay is the delicate scents from all lilies that are the highlight of the latest exhibition here at the Gardens by the Bay – Lilytopia.

Retro Fever hits this luscious landscape of flowers with melodies from the past that are sure to put a special beat to you and your bubbas steps as you wander through each section of the dome. No matter where you are in the dome, the light scent of the lilies wafts gently in the air, luring you towards the spectacular parade of colour and impressive variety of lilies that are on display.

Standing proudly in rows beside the retro memorabilia like an old fashioned bicycle, a minivan and a vespa moped that used to race through our streets in the 50s, flower power meets retro power with each installment intricately decorated with flowers and plants to match.

SPLASHES OF RETRO FEVER HAVE BEEN THOUGHTFULLY PLACED TO TAKE YOU BACK IN TIME

At every turn of this exhibition, splashes of retro have been thoughtfully placed to take you back in time. The disco balls and mirrored guitars add to this playful theme together with the colourful go go boots that line the pathways acting as flower pots for the gorgeous lilies that stand in them, proudly reminding us of the days when bell bottoms and these boots used to rock to the retro tunes of our local dance scene in Singapore.

LILYTOPIA IS A DELIGHTFUL FEAST TO THE EYES

Lilytopia is a delightful feast to the eyes for both young and old as one cannot miss the smiles of the pioneer generation there as they remember the tunes from the past and the camera enthusiastic bubbas clicking away at all the lovely flowers on display. This exhibition has succeeded in not only showcasing its flower of the month in all its glory, but has truly brought the different generations together. Lilitopia is a fabulous way for all our mamas and bubbas to hide away from the heat of the day while getting up close to nature’s aesthetic array of flora!
