Tangy Berry to refresh our throats and beat the heat wave – words by Katherine Sng

Leading Swiss herb drop brand, Ricola has launched a new flavour, Tangy Berry to refresh our throats and beat the heat wave at the same time. Thanks to its key ingredient, Sea Buckthorn berries juice, we enjoyed its fruity-orangey taste! While the active ingredient in most Ricola products is menthol, the important part is still the classic blend of 13 herbs created by Ricola’s founder Emil Wilhelm Richterich in 1940.

The proprietary formula of 13 herbs, namely Burnet, Cowslip, Elderberry, Horehound, Marshmallow, Lady’s Mantle, Mallow, Peppermint, Plantain, Sage, Speedwell, Thyme, and Yarrow, are also cultivated in the Swiss mountains using natural farming methods without any pesticides.  With an organic cough drop soothing our throat, Ricola’s new flavor Tangy Berry is no doubt the icing on the cake.

Most cough drop may contains chemical like Dextromethorphan (DXM) and is chemically related to codeine, thanks to the addictive properties of codeine, it acts on the brain to suppress cough. Free of Dextromethorphan (DXM), Ricola’s 13 herbal mix as cough drop is revolutionary!  At Ricola’s herb garden, visitors can learn about the original herbal blend in their natural environment, cultivation and power of herbs.

Ricola Tangy Berry retails at major supermarkets, convenience stores, petrol marts and minimarts islandwide for S$3.35 each.
