New and Improved Nestlé Cerelac® Infant Cereals

Nestlé CERELAC® Infant Cereals

Nestlé CERELAC® Infant Cereals

Your Child’s First Solid

Full-term babies have large amounts of iron stored in their bodies sufficient for the first six months of their new life. Up until this stage, babies will also start weaning foods to meet their increasing nutritional needs. Iron, is one key nutrient that plays an important role for an infant’s childhood nutrition, specifically for red blood cells which carry oxygen to all parts of the body to help the body’s production of energy.

Infants cereals with higher iron in just one serving

Earlier this year, Nestlé CERELAC®  introduced the new CERELAC® Infant Cereals, jam packed with higher iron, vitamins A & C content. The new and improved Nestlé CERELAC® Infant Cereals will meet more than 50 percent of an infant’s daily iron requirement in just one serving!  Iron is crucial to the production of red blood cells that carries oxygen to all parts of our body. About two-thirds of the body’s iron is found in hemoglobin. It prevents anemia which is a deficiency of red cells or of haemoglobin in the blood, resulting in weariness. Iron is also related to proper growth of the human body and a robust health.

We wish to highlight two other contents:

BIFIDUS BL

Probiotics such as BIFIDUS BL are beneficial bacteria naturally present in breast milk. They help to fight against harmful bacteria, and maintain a healthy digestive system. There are many different types of probiotics available, but not all are built the same. Only NESTLÉ cereals contains BIFIDUS BL probiotics which helps establish a healthy intestinal flora that contributes to:

  • Reduced allergy risk of your child
  • Manage post-partum weight management

DHA

Omega-3 fatty acid docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) is one of the major building blocks of the brain, it provides brain-booster benefits for infants and aging adults. Recognizing DHA’s crucial role in neurological and visual development in infants is important, its  a good thing that manufacturers, like Nestlé, are incorporating DHA into infant formulas and baby foods. DHA omega-3 is naturally found throughout the body and is most abundant in the brain, eyes and heart.

Studies have shown that DHA plays a role in:

  • Infant mental development
  • Brain and nervous system development and function
  • Supporting the mental function of children and adults throughout life
  • Possible role for DHA in some behavioral and mood disorders affecting both children and adults

  5. This is so helpful for me because I have a 3 months old baby which I plan to go on solids by 6 months. I love that Nestle cerelac has probiotics which is good for the digestion and DHA. Can I ask if I can use this cereal for baby-lead weaning also?

  13. Thank you Honeylette Cainday-Brillo, I am no expert in BLW but according to the guidelines by the World Health Organization, the internal digestive system matures when the infant is 4–6 months old. Since BLW emphasizes on exploring taste, texture, color and smell, the baby would then paced their weaning by this method. Hence Cerelac Infant Cereal is perfect for infant's first solid. Hope this helps!
