This September holidays, Tourism Malaysia invites you and your family to Pahang, Malaysia for an unwinding and unforgettable experience.

Tourism Malaysia is partnering with De Rhu Beach Resort to provide a comprehensive, guided tour around Pahang, where you and your family can get back in touch with the beauty and serenity of Mother Nature.

Do your kids struggle with the typical ‘First World Problems’, like spending too much time on their electronic gadgets and social media? This trip back to nature promises you and your children an immersive, educational experience that is best learnt through traveling.

We have listed 8 things to experience in the beautiful quaint land of Kuantan, Pahang.

Wish to be in Nara, Japan to see deers, but are short on finances and vacation leave days? Here in Kuantan, Pahang, share an up-close and personal experience with your family at the deer farm.

Snap pictures and feed the deers, they sure are a hungry and delightful bunch!

These bees don’t sting! These stingless bees have surprisingly nourishing properties in the honey. Coined as the ‘Natural Healer’, the stingless bee honey is rich in enzymes and antioxidants. Have a sip of the refreshing beverage infused with the stingless bee honey prepared by the locals – you can even purchase bottles of the fresh stingless bee honey and bring them back to Singapore. Each bottle costs 140RM, which is still relatively cheaper than the stingless bee honey sold in Singapore.

Tour the Paddy Fields

While the paddy fields here are not as grandeur or magnificent as the ones you can find in Sapa, Vietnam, it still provides basic educational materials necessary to teach your children how rice is harvested and processed. Don’t be afraid to get hands-on as there are many types of machinery available for you and your kids to learn how to separate husks from grain in the old ways.

Coconut Plucking

Watch the zealous monkey showcase his coconut plucking skills as he climbs comfortably from one tree to another. Thereafter, reward yourself to one of the hand-plucked coconuts. Also, can’t we all agree that he is extremely photogenic!

Batik Painting

Batik painting is a must-do in Malaysia, and you can even take home your finished painting as a souvenir. After your painting is completed, roam around to see how batik printed merchandises are made as the hosts execute their day-to-day activities or dying, painting, and printing.

ATV Motoring

Just a stone’s throw away from the De Rhu Beach Resort, it takes less than 5 minutes to get to the ATV motoring station. We had so much fun we didn’t care if we had sand in our mouths.

Hospitality Beyond Food

De Rhu Beach Resort is a family-friendly beach resort that is luscious at first glance. Beyond the spacious and cosy exterior lies a welcoming hospitality, which is one of the few places that value their guests’ experience more than anything else.

As we casually conversed with one of the local chefs of the De Rhu Beach Resort café, he spoke with vigour and passion, “How much can one eat? It is not only about the quality of the cooking. It is about creating an unforgettable dining experience for our guests.”
