The Singapore Steinway Youth Piano Competition is returning for the second time and preparations are underway. Registration is now open until 20th January 2014 for Singapore Citizens and Permanent Residents. For more information, see the link below.
The competition targets aspiring pianists aged 17 years and below and allows them to perform up to 20 minutes of audition repertoire. The nine national-level winners will then compete at the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music at the National University of Singapore, with the overall champion earning the coveted spot to represent Southeast Asia at the International Steinway Festival 2014 in Hamburg.
Preparation for the local competition next year is already in progress with various activities planned by Steinway Gallery Singapore. Intensive training programmes for the semi-finalists will be led by internationally renowned music professors in order to prepare participants for the Regional Finals.
Registration is now open. Registration closes on 20th January 2014.
