ONE DIRECTION ARE HERE IN SINGAPORE : HAVE YOU ORGANISED YOUR MEETING POINTS
This evening (11th March 2015) sees One Direction play their first ever concert in Singapore as part of their #OnTheRoadAgain2015 Tour and, boy are we excited!
Since the beginning of this week, pleas for fans to wait patiently and the advice to not camp out overnight at the Sports Hub area (close to the National Stadium) have been broadcast. Despite that, long queues of passionate fans started forming early and during the lunch time break there were One Direction fans everywhere grabbing a bite to eat over at the Kallang Wave.
The X-Factor-formed British-Irish boyband, One Direction may have travelled the world but, do they truly know what to expect here in Singapore! This, their first Singapore concert is surely set to be a huge landmark for Singapore and Singaporean fans. With more than 30,000 tickets sold, this evenings concert is, in recent times, the biggest Western pop concert here in Singapore.
We dropped by the National Stadium earlier today and were truly amazed to see the hive of activity from these passionate One Direction fans. With merchandise stands opening early, it was the opportunity to purchase t-shirts, caps, posters and accessories too. Not only were the early-bird fans grabbing the merchandise but we also saw Moms, Grannies and Aunties arriving with shopping lists written by their much loved bubbas who were still in school.
If you are attending the One Direction concert this evening, here are our tips to you:-
- Take public transport to and from the concert,
- Stay hydrated,
- Set designated meeting places with friends or family in case your phone battery dies or you become lost in the crowds,
- Leave selfie-sticks and cameras with long lenses at home,
- Arrive with a fully charged handphone to capture the boys’ best moments,
- Respect the queue system,
- Listen and respect the security instructions,
- Stay safe and have fun!
