SINGIN’ IN THE RAIN RAINING LIVE ON STAGE
The critically acclaimed and popular musical, Singin’ In The Rain will be in Singapore from 9 July to 26 July 2015 at MasterCard Theatre Marina Bay Sands.
Set in 1927, the musical is a reflection of Hollywood’s first musical where film found music and its voice leaving behind the silent movies. The iconic 1952 MGM movie’s story was made famous by Gene Kelly and Debbie Reynolds where many stars were born and some were left behind.
Children in the audience will be fascinated by the songs which include Moses Supposes and the classic Singin’ in the Rain. Here are some of the tongue twisters, the male lead actor Don Lockwood (acted Duane Alexander) was reciting.
Tongue Twisters 1
Sinful Caesar sipped his snifter, seized his knees and sneezed.
Chester chooses chestnuts, cheddar cheese with chewy chives.
Tongue Twister 2
He chews them and he chooses them.
He chooses them and he chews them those chestnuts, cheddar cheese and chives in cheery, charming chunks.
Tongue Twister 3
Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously.
Moses, he knowses his toeses aren’t roses as Moses supposes his toeses to be.
Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously.
But Moses, he knowses his toes aren’t roses as Moses supposes his toeses to be.
Moses supposes his toeses are roses, but Moses supposes erroneously.
A mose is a mose.
A rose is a rose.
A toes is a toes.

In the musical Singin’ In The Rain, Don Lockwood is a famous silent movie star who has a well publicized ‘romance’ with his co-star Lina Lamont (Taryn-Lee Hudson). Hollywood was set change with the introduction of sound movies where actors perform through real acting, sing and dance. In the musical, Don Lockwood meets chorus girl Kathy Selden (Bethany Dickson) and is infatuated with her. Caught in a ‘love triangle’, can Don Lockwood make the transition on and off screen?
We particularly love the ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ song as we saw Don Lockwood danced and sang with a carefree spirit in the rain and splashed the rain at the audience.
