THE STANDARD CHARTERED MARATHON SINGAPORE KIDS DASH MOVES TO SPORTS HUB
The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore (SCMS) is back, and with it comes the ever popular Kids Dash.
This year, the Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore Kids Dash moves to the Sports Hub and will be held on Saturday 5th December, thus allowing parents to accompany their children to The Kids Dash while still participating in the SCMS themselves, and being focused for their own run on Sunday 6th December.
The Kids Dash is open to children aged 13 years and below and is a 700m fun run to be held at the Sports Hub 100Plus Promenade.
When it is known that children who take part in regular exercise have a lower risk of childhood obesity, have improved concentration levels, and are more likely to be healthy adults, it seems The Kids Dash is a perfect opportunity to get the kids up and exercising.

Pricing is just $25 per child and one guardian is allowed per child (it is compulsory for a parent or guardian to accompany all children aged 6 years and below for safety reasons).
With kids’ safety in mind, this year’s Kids Dash has been capped at 5,000 participants and kids will also be placed in specific start waves, allowing them to safely run alongside children of their own age.
All children taking part in The Standard Chartered Marathon Singapore Kids Dash will receive a finisher’s medal to recognise their outstanding achievement.
With set up at the Sports Hub, The Kids Dash event will be accompanied by a carnival area. With performances especially for the kids, fringe activities and a variety of delicious food and drinks available to top-up your little runner’s energy levels.
Of course, the adult categories are much the same as previous years and will take place on Sunday 6th December. Adult categories are; Marathon, Half Marathon, 10km run and Ekiden. There are however some improvements for both participants and supporters;
Runners in the full marathon can take advantage of 16 hydration stations at an average of every 2.6km. In additions, the half marathon will, for the first time, have a banana station.
Route entertainment will spur on runners; at locations such as East Coast Park and West Coast Highway, runners can expect cheerleaders, live bands or LED robots, creating a vibrant and energetic atmosphere.
