It feels like the year just started, but before we know it now, it’s time for the March school holidays for 2018. Here are some fun ideas on how you can keep your bubba busy for the one week.

Discover The Fun Side of Changi

Even if you are not making a trip out of Singapore, it’s worth making a trip out to Changi Airport as the beloved Sesame Street characters will be taking over Terminal 3 with a line-up of activities and interactive activities. There will even be an inflatable Sesame Street playground with life-sized characters, slides and a multi-coloured ball pit. Get your hands on exclusive Sesame Street merchandise and fill up the stamps in a special Sesame Street-themed Changi Love Kids Passport to Fun for a special surprise.

When: From 8 March

Nickelodeon Fiesta

Rub shoulders with favourite Nickelodeon characters such as Spongebob Squarepants, PAW Patrol and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at the second Nickelodeon Fiesta. You can also bring home limited edition Nickelodeon collectibles by participating in games at one of the nine street stalls or joining the heritage trail of Singaporean food. It promises to be a day full of fun for everyone in the family.

Sports Hub Community Play Day

Dragon boat races, one-of-a-kind water bottle workouts and Tahiti Dance Fitness performances. These are just some of the sporty activities that await you at the Sports Hub. Particularly attractive is the Water Playground where there will be a host of water activities such as the Water Drum, Trackless Train and Bouncy Pirate Ship. There’s no excuse to not get moving with the family!

The Nightingale 

Hans Christian Andersen’s The Nightingale comes to live with catchy rhymes and clever dialogue at the SRT’s interpretation of the classic tale. It’s a tale about true friendship and kids could do well to learn a thing or two from the Emperor of China and the Nightingale.

When: 7 March to 20 April

Disney On Ice celebrates Everyone’s Story

Well-loved Disney characters including Mickey Mouse, Belle, Pinocchio and Elsa spin, twirl and dance their way on ice to familiar tunes that will have everyone swaying to the beat. It’s the skating show’s 25th anniversary in Singapore and you can be sure to have a magical time here with your little ones.

When: 14 to 18 March

Totebag Design Workshop

Let your little ones exercise their creativity on tote bags with fabric, buttons and an assortment of adornments at VivoCity this March holidays. Exclusive to VivoCity Kids Club members (membership is free for the first year), there will be three sessions a day at a first-come-first-serve basis and children must be accompanied by their parents. Do note that registrations close on 4 March and must be done at the Customer Service Counter on Level 1.

The Dog Who Goes Woof Woof

Inspired by De große Hund by Andrea Hensgen and The Amazing Sarong by Quek Hong Shin, expect live music, minimal dialogue and puppets dressed in colourful batik in this tale about how a dog helps a child overcome her fear. This is a play that is specially created just for your little ones so we’re sure that they’ll enjoy it.

When: 2 to 11 March

ACT 3 Drama Academy March Holiday Workshops: A Pig, A Spider and A Web

Little ones get to flex their acting muscles at ACT 3’s workshops for kids. This year’s run is based on the popular tale Charlotte’s Web and there are workshops ranging from a few hours to five days for all ages with include drama activities, exercises and storytelling.

When: 12 to 25 March

Art-Zoo Inflatable Park 

Get bouncing amongst larger-than-life animals, plants and mythical creatures at this unique experiential playground. We really can’t think of anything more fun and the best part is that it extends beyond the March holidays so you and your minis can have even more time to bounce up and down.

District Design Dialogue 

Pique your child’s interest in art at this festival that will be filled with creative art installations and workshops. A definite must-visit for those 12 and under is The Playground, which will be filled with interactive installations and workshops that will engage young minds with playful and imaginative learning. Some of the activities little ones can expects include a string maze, an under the sea installation, a doodle mural wall and a robot petting zoo, where they can even learn to make their own Robot-Pet. Doesn’t it sound like a blast?

When: 10 to 18 March (on weekends)

Sunshine Parent and Child Breakfast Bento Workshop

Head to eXplorerkid for a session to learn how to make a very special breakfast bento. Conducted by Bento Food Blogger, Jean Yap (@bentodays_), you and your child will learn to make creative healthy and attractive looking home-cooked meals that you can easily replicate at home. The workshop is free, but admission prices to eXplorerkid @ Downtown East apply.
