Coq1

Located in the heartlands of Tiong Bahru, lies Coq & Balls, a laid-back bar dressed with industrial bar stools and raw walls. Come weekends, we can all look forward to treating ourselves their recently launched weekend brunch which starts at 10am and ends at 3pm, giving you and your Bubbas all the time to fill those tum-tums.This new brunch menu brings you 10 entrees which are all wallet-friendly starting from $12.

Nothing says “Hello Weekend!” like The Big Coq ($16), their cheekily-named signature breakfast comes with sour dough toast, mushrooms sauteed with herbs, bacon baked beans, chorizo, grilled vine tomatoes, and special scrambled eggs. Bite into warm crunchy toast topped with cheesy scrambled eggs, and sink your teeth into those delicious mushrooms laced with truffle oil. This hearty breakfast will certainly fill your stomach and keep you coming back for more. For those with a lighter palate, you will enjoy the Baked Granola with Yoghurt & Wild Forest Berries ($12), served on a generous bowl of Bulla Greek yoghurt, with a light cardamon honey syrup on the side. The Chicken Mango Salad ($14) is spruced up with a homemade honey mustard sauce, which you can have it in a wrap too.

My favourite of the lot? Baked Eggs in a Pan ($15), or hugs in a pan, sunshine on a plate. You get the idea. Creamy eggs and chunks of potatoes baked with lots of cheese is my kinda breakfast. This is as fluffy as eggs can get and it’s easy on those milk teeth of Bubba’s!For cheese lovers, indulge yourself in the Goat Cheese Tart ($16) with feta melted creamy chunks of goat cheese, topped with a homemade salsa, all nestled in a crispy baked puff pastry.

The homemade Bolognaise ($14), served with angel hair pasta, is a dish popular with the little ones. Prepared using the reduction technique for 2 hours, this is full of goodness and heartiness. Some other classics in the menu includes Eggs Benny ($14), Casaer Salad ($14) and BLT ($14) and end your brunch with a slice (or two!) assorted freshly baked pies for dessert. Choose between specialty breasfast beers; Fruli Strawberry Beer, brewed in a 300-year-old Belgium craft brewery or Stiegl Grapefruit Radler, made with real grapefruit juice. Other alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are also available. If you’re bringing little Bubbas along who find bar stools too high, do ring Coq & Balls up to reserve the big dining table and feast away!
