PROMOTING A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE AND FAMILY BONDING WHILE SUPPORTING LOW-INCOME FAMILIES
After its inaugural event last year that saw over 5,000 participants and $1 million donated to help low income families, FairPrice Walks With U is back.
This year the family event has a new scenic location and theme. The theme is ‘Walk Around the World’ and participants will be treated to a carnival of sights and sounds from countries like USA, Japan and Brazil.
Similar to last year, the NTUC FairPrice will pledge $100 per registration to FairPrice Food Voucher Scheme via its Foundation. The scheme will distribute FairPrice food vouchers to grassroots organization from all 87 constituencies and to selected welfare organisations to benefit low-income families and individuals.
A change to this year’s event is the addition of social media activation. This is to engage everyone, even those who cannot take part in the walk but would still like to do their bit for the less fortunate among us. FairPrice will pledge an additional $10 in FairPrice vouchers to the Food Voucher Scheme for every Instagram, Twitter of Facebook post that carries the official hashtag #fairpricewalk, along with an accompanying photo or line explaining why walking with one’s family is fun or memorable. FairPrice targets to donate up to $1 million to the FairPrice Food Voucher Scheme.
This 5km walk will begin at the Promontory against the iconic Marina Bay backdrop and will take participants past the Marina Bay Sands as they make their way towards the Gardens by the Bay, eventually ending back at the Waterfront Promenade next to the Promontory.
Interested participants and families can register for the walk at whatsupatfairprice.com.sg/walk
Registration rate for NTUC Members is $10 per individual and $15 for the public. Early bird signups will enjoy $3 discount for the public. Group discounts are also available.
