Organised by POPULAR Book Store, BookFest 2018 officially kickstarts the year-long celebrations for POPULAR’s 95th Anniversary in 2019! Spanning 130,000 sqft at Suntec Convention Hall 401 – 406 from 14 – 23 December – over two weekends during the school holidays! BookFest is the ultimate one-stop solution to all your holiday needs – Christmas gifts, new school year preparation, family enriching activities, or retail therapy.

“Awesome & More” (阅•精彩), accompanied by the visual of adorable squirrels – like these squirrels, customers are the Gatherers of Knowledge, where one is accumulating knowledge through books found at BookFest 2018.
POPULAR READERS’ CHOICE AWARDS
In its 7th edition, the POPULAR Readers’ Choice Awards aims to recognise and reward local authors and pay tribute to their literary works. Staying true to its name, the judges of the awards are the readers who will nominate their favourite books or authors. Since its inception, the awards have grown from strength-to-strength, proving itself as the stimulus in the local literary scene by providing local authors with a platform to showcase their writing.
MOTHER TONGUE READING COMPETITION
Another familiar component of BookFest is the annual National Chinese Creative Reading Competition (NCCRC) and the National Malay Creative Reading Competition (NMCRC). Through creative recital of Chinese and Malay books, both initiatives hope to encourage and promote the importance of reading in Mother Tongue languages.
GADGETS & IT SHOW
The Gadgets & IT Show returns with a plethora of tech accessories, consumer electronics and IT products at never-before prices after a successful run in 2017.
