1 November 2014 Saturday saw the world’s most famous feline character celebrate her 40th Birthday with the Hello Kitty Run Singapore.

Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel were present at the Start line to flag off the inaugural Hello Kitty Run Singapore at 8:00 am.  Although the dark clouds gathered, the spirit of excitement among the Hello Kitty Run Singapore participants did not dampen. With runners being set off in waves, it was inevitable that many of the 17,000 participants would be, not only setting off but, running and finishing in the rain.

With umbrellas, ponchos, Hello Kitty Run Singapore towels and anything they could find to hide under, runners kept up the pace and ran for the finish line at Siloso Beach, where the Hello Kitty 40th Birthday Run Beach Party would take place. After collecting finisher’s medals, snacking on Hello Kitty themed snacks and taking some shelter from the weather, the rain did eventually cease and the post race party could commence.

With the Hello Kitty Run being sold out in record time, it came as no surprise that many more, than the 17,000 race participants and Hello Kitty fans turned up to enjoy the celebrations on Sentosa. Those that were not lucky enough to participate in the Hello Kitty Run Singapore attended the post run Party on Siloso Beach, Sentosa where a flurry of activities awaited.

We were there to run with the crowds and, despite the terribly wet weather, we had lots of fun and were more than happy to see many, many smiles from the young and young-at-heart as well as many happy and supportive guys running with their loved ones and families.
