Legoland Malaysia Resort celebrates it’s second anniversary with an announcement launching the LEGO® Star War™ miniland model display. The LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland is the first attraction of it’s kind in Asia and the latest LEGO® model display to open at LEGOLAND around the world.
Fans of Star Wars would feast their eyes on LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland featuring seven scenes from the six Star Wars™ movies and The Clone Wars™ animated series in great detail on a scale 1:20. The LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland opens on 6 September 2014 with 2,000 LEGO® models using 1.5 million LEGO® bricks. Half of the 2,000 models in LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland were built in Malaysia while the rest were shipped from Germany and Czech Republic. The LEGO® models took the Master Model Builders 8,000 man hours to complete. Technicians and landscapers put together the models and authentic Star Wars™ sounds, animatronics and lighting to make the LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland more lifelike.
The LEGO® Star Wars™ Miniland is displayed in an octagon building with a 900sqm floor space which is divided into eight sections. There are six areas- one area for each iconic scene from the six Star Wars™ movies, one area screening a scene from the animated film Star Wars: The Clone Wars™, one area dedicated to LEGO® Star Wars™ merchandise.
Visitors visiting the Star Wars™ Miniland will be taken to the seven featured scenes in the Star Wars™ movies depicting the planets Naboo, Kashyyyk, Mustafar, Tatooine, Hoth, Endor and Christophsis. From the smallest to the largest model, the Star Wars™ Miniland feature Yoda which is made up of 30 LEGO® pieces to the Crystal City which is 2.65m tall and the iconic Millennium Falcon made up of 19,200 LEGO® bricks. There are also interactive buttons for visitors to activate the animatronics within each scene.
Before heading to the rest of Legoland, Star Wars™ fans can have their pictures taken with favourite Star Wars™ characters, built from LEGO® bricks. Throughout the month of September 2014, there will LEGO® Star Wars™ activities lined up to celebrate Legoland’s second anniversary, children dressed in their favourite Star Wars™ characters get to enter for free.
