FUN FOR CHILDREN’S DAY AT THE OCTOBURST CHILDREN’S FESTIVAL
Celebrating with the bubbas this Children’s Day 2014, we will be among the many enjoying Children’s Day as the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay presents Octoburst Children’s Festival from 3 – 6 October 2014.
There will be shows and presentations at Octoburst! – A Children’s Festival including theatre, ballet, drawing and colouring fun, the bubbas will be entertained and delighted this Children’s Day 2014.
- Something Very Far Away by UK’s Unicorn Theatre – a production that uses puppetry, music, sound and live animation to explore the themes of love, loss, space and time. 35 minutes of charming theatre that is suitable for bubbas aged 6 years and above. Performing on 3, 4, 5 & 6 October in the Esplanade Recital Studio.
- Dance Appreciation Series: Introduction to Ballet Classics by Singapore Dance Theatre – bringing to stage different aspects of classical ballet from Germany, France, Spain, Poland and India, told through narration and dance, this hour-long performance is specially created for young audiences aged 2 years and above. Children coming dressed as their favourite character from Sleeping Beauty, Swan Lake, Don Quixote or Nutcracker will get to take photographs with the cast after the show. Performance on 3 October at 1pm and 4pm in the Esplanade Concert Hall.
- Octoburst Colouring Fun – if bubba loves colouring then bring him down to Esplanade Concourse on 3 October between 8.30am and 11.30am where he can colour and bring home is fabulous work. Suitable for children aged 2 – 4 years of age.
- Octoburst on-the-spot Drawing Competition – register now at esplanade.com/Octoburst (registration closes on 1 October 2014) Bubba can enter into one of the three categories (5- 6 years, 7-9 years or 10-12 years) and he can stand a chance to win prizes as well as having a chance to see his art work displayed at the Esplanade Community Wall (Level 3, Esplanade Mall) from 4 October – 2 November 2014.
