ALOHA! GREETINGS FROM SHANGRI-LA RASA SENTOSA!
It wasn’t Hawaii but arriving at Shangri-la Rasa Sentosa – the island’s first hotel – it felt like we have arrived at Hawaii for a sunny holiday. Clad in floral beach shirts, Rasa Sentosa’s staff greeted us at the lobby and pointed us on our way to Barnacles for our champagne brunch.
Walking through the lobby, down 3 floors to Barnacles, we passed the kids center – the place I will ‘dump’ Bubba to have his own fun while I enjoy myself at the pool – and also the pool. Seeing so many families enjoying themselves, I am already subconsciously building a mental note to book a staycation at Rasa Sentosa for Bubba and I for a weekend.
SUNDAY BARNACLES PARTY AT BARNACLES BY THE SEA
At Barnacles restaurant, eating in the aircon is a great relief from the sweltering heat – though we were all lightly dressed in view of the hot weather. While we were indoors, our minds kept drifting to the outdoor – we were constantly reminded the outdoor jacuzzi we saw on our way to Barnacles. It was enjoyable eating at Barnacles and painful at the same time when thoughts of sipping pina coladas kept creeping into our head.

S$138 is quite steep for a place without much ambience though! I'd pay that price for Capella, St Regis or Raffles but not Rasa really. But i have to admit, they have programs for kids that the rest do not!
One thing that I absolutely cannot resist. Seafood!! Looks so good!!
We had our brunch in Rasa Sentosa late last year and my family loved it too! But I agree with May, the price is steep. I guess one has to pay for the quality (and quantity) of food 😛
