Storytelling Comes Alive!
Free and open to public on Palawan Beach, Storytelling Comes Alive is an interactive activity where children will be encouraged to take part in the storytelling process and create their own ending. This activity is specific for the June hols and ends on 28 June. It features PLAYMOBIL inspired figurines as part of the storytelling process, and this year, in view of the SEA Games fever that has gripped the nation, one story is of course, sports themed.
Port of Lost Wonder
Also on Palawan Beach, the popular kids club is a hit with families who want to find a place to cool down. It also helps that the in-house restaurant, Port Belly, serves quite nice food. This June, POLW also features sports such as javelin, archery, beach soccer and netball for the children to try out.
Wings of Time
A TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence winner, Wings of Time is one of the most popular ways for families to end their day in Sentosa. The first show begins at 7.40pm, so it’s not too late for families to have dinner before or after!
NATIONAL MUSEUM OF SINGAPORE is hosting a number of fun, educational and arty workshops and events. Choose your favourite:-
The Children’s Season : Masak Masak 2015 for playgrounds, interactive installations, performances, film screenings, and many family orientated actuates suitable for ages three to seven years. Happening from 30th May through 10th August between 10am to 6pm, this is a free admission event.
Fun with Origami! : Artist Workshop by Mademoiselle Maurice will feature the art of transforming a simple piece of paper into a work of art. This workshop is ticketed, tickets can be purchased at SISTIC. The Fun with Origami workshop is taking place on 30th May and 31st May 2015, is for children aged 4 to 7 years (with parent) and children aged 8 to 12 years (unaccompanied).

Shadow Puppetry – Let’s Play & Learn is a fun and interactive workshop that gives your child a chance to create his or her own story using shadow puppetry. Inspired by Javanese Wayang Kulit, the workshop features characters from an Asian folk tale. This is suitable for children aged 4 to 7 years and is happening on Saturdays in June (6th, 13th, 20th and 27th) at 10.30 am. Each session is 1h 30mins and is ticketed – tickets can be purchased at SISTIC for a price of S$20 (excludes booking fee)

THE GARDENS BY THE BAY : BERENSTAIN BEARS – Go along and join in a play with stories by Players Theatre as they bring stories told by the Berenstain Bears! Look forward to colourful costumes and interesting props, and let the Berenstain Bears’ special narration of honesty and responsibility.

READ-A-CRAFT FOR TODDLERS is suitable for preschoolers age 2-6 years old. Each session includes a storytelling segment followed by 2 handicraft making segments. ACT 3 THEATRICS IS presenting their most popular holiday programmes; Creative Chief Series and Writing Master Series; this June holidays. These holiday programmes are designed by theatre pioneer and author R Chandran with educator and international film actress, Amy J Cheng.
Creative Chief Series is targeted at children between the ages of 5 years and 8 years. They will learn to read spontaneously, write proficiently and speak confidently.

Writing Master Series will help children the art of writing a good story that is engaging, simple yet powerful! The teachers will guide them through the process of story-making while children will unleash their imagination and create their own world of make believe. At the end of the workshop, children will get to publish their very own story, complete with illustrations.

Jelly Wobble is a 2-hour workshop specially tailored for 4 to 8 year olds. The workshop comprise of 4 elements – interactive art exhibitions, show, drama workshop and art making activities. Taking inspiration from ‘The Jelly That Wouldn’t Wobble’ by Angela Mitchell, a light-hearted tale of Princess Lolly, who is holding her 89th birthday bash and was surprised with a jelly that refuses to wobble. Using a brilliant learning process for children to enjoy themselves through multi-sensory activities like mini drama workshop and hands on craft making.
Each session is limited to 45 children divided into three groups. Each group will take turns to participate in a drama workshop and two different kinds of craft making for the first 30 minutes. The groups will then take turns to make a ’round robin’ to ensure all children get to experience all activities in the next hour. The final 30 minutes will be devoted to making the birthday bash a memorable one for Princess Lolly as the children perform for her and surprise her with their handmade gifts. CHILDREN-FOR-CHILDREN a Project by ACT 3 International as part of the Asian Festival of Children’s Content will feature arts that will touch children’s lives. These acts in various theatre styles including; Chinese opera, dramatic reading as well as choral and dance movement, are not only aimed at bubba and friends (young audiences) but are also performed by children aged 9 years to 16 years.
