Halloween is a big thing in Universal Studios Singapore and nearly everyone (unless you have been hiding under a rock) knows about their annual Halloween Horrors Nights – it’s their 7th edition this year.

However, creepy ghouls and hantus don’t exactly make for a very kid-friendly experience. Well, Universal Studios Singapore has not left the young ones out for Halloween. While it make not have kid-friendly haunted houses for junior to tour, it does have a special show put up by familiar Sesame Street characters, and it’s a fun one for the kiddos to watch.

Trick or Treat with Sesame Street is a show filled with impressive song and dance numbers, especially considering that each one of them is held up in a bulky costume with limited vision. The tunes are catchy and kids are bound to bob along to the beat.

The show starts with Elmo, Cookie Monster, Big Bird and Oscar the Grouch, as well as the rest of the gang, all excited for Halloween, especially the part that everyone looks forward too… candy collecting from every house.

However, they face competition in their quest for candy, thanks to Count von Count’s insatiable thirst for numbers. Running out of things in his castle to count, he ventures out and realises that people are giving candy away in the streets, and he now has something new to count.

He ends up sweeping all the candy and when Elmo and gang head out into the streets, there’s nothing much left. We won’t spoil the ending, but it’s a kid-friendly show for sure and the conflict is handled in a very friendly fashion and of course, it ends with a big musical number.

We were also privileged to meet Elmo during a tea time party as part of Sesame Street’s global #ShareTheLaughter campaign. And the place was packed with lots of Sesame Street goodies.
