MEET DINOSAURS UP CLOSE AT ERTH’S DINOSAUR ZOO DURING KIDSFEST SINGAPORE 2015
During KidsFest Singapore 2015, just one of the amazing shows joining in will be Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo. From 29 January 2015 to 1 February 2015, kids can watch wide-eyed from a safe distance or dare to get up close to some really awesome prehistoric creatures and cute baby dinos. We get ready for a wild time when Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo paleontologists take us on a once in a lifetime interactive experience.
Wanting to find out more about Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo, we recently chafed with Ms Sharon Kerr the Executive Director and Mr Scott Wright the Artistic Director and Host of Erth:-
A little background of Erth – Erth began in 1990 in Ballarat, Victoria Austrialia, when 3 friends – Scott Wright, Steve Howarth and Sharon Kerr got together and cooked up some performance ideas. Erth is a visual and physical theatre company based in Sydney, at an awesome venue called Cariageworks. Erth have been around for over 20 years and tour shows around Australia and overseas.
We asked what makes theatre an exciting experience for children compared to other forms of art?
In our show (Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo), we invite children up onto stage to help us feed the dinosaurs – we cannot think of any other art form that has such an immediate impact!
How is Erth’s Dinosaur Zoo going to entertain the whole family?
While the show is made for children, there are moments when adults are called up to assist. We’ve found that adults love watching the children run away from the large carnivore too – hilarious!
During the show, what do children respond to best?
The baby dinosaurs are very popular, and we let children come onto stage and pat them. Of course, the hero dinosaur, which is a carnivore, is also a favourite.
Erth have been around for over 20 years, what have been the highlights thus far?
We performed at the Opening Ceremony of the Sydney Olympic Games, The Shanghai World Expo and on top of the sails at the Sydney Opera House.
