KOREAN CHICKEN CHAIN, CHIR CHIR NOW FINALLY IN SINGAPORE

Korean chicken chain, Chir Chir ( say: chi-ruh, chi-ruh) has finally made it to Singapore.

Chir Chir Fusion Chicken Factory serves fragrant chicken dishes and alcoholic beverages. Chir Chir is apparently the onomatopoeia for the sound oil makes when frying.

Using only fresh chicken, homemade sauces and even freshly whipped cream, the quality in the chicken dishes shows.

Chip Chir Crispy Fried Chicken

We love Chir Chir’s signature fried chicken, available in Crispy, Garlicky and Spicy. They are served in either whole, wings or tenders. The original Crispy Fried Chicken ($26.90) is succulent and juicy, yes even the breasts, with a crispy skin that we crunched with relish.

Our second favourite was the Garlicky Chicken ($28.90), the chicken is coated with house made soy sauce, sprinkled with garlic and fried garlic cloves. Chunks of sweet potatoes and fried toppoki (Korean rice cake) also come in the dish.

Chir Chir Nest Snow

Bubbas would love the boneless Nest Snow ($32.90). The mildly spiced Cajun tenders are perched atop three scoops of Korean sweet potato puree. It also comes with a cream sauce with olives and peppers. The crowning glory of the chicken tenders lies in its freshly whipped cream and cheese atop the nest.

Chir Chir Honey Grape Salad

A sweet end or beginning to the meal comes in the form of a Honey Grape Salad ($18.90), this kid-friendly salad comes with sliced fresh green grapes, walnuts, pinenuts and almonds. You have to mix in the fresh whipped cream, ricotta cheese and honey to get its full satisfying effect.

Adults can round off their meal with the signature Chir Cream Beer ($13.90 to $18.90). Beer and whipped cream may sound like an odd combination but the whipped cream settles into the beer creating a creamy rootbeer float-like texture. Quite addictive.

Take your Bubba to Chir Chir this weekend for a clucking good time.
