EDUCATION IS NURTURING FUTURE LEADERS, GIVING BACK TO SOCIETY
Many parents believe that sending a child to boarding school is irresponsible, leaving the job of ‘taking care’ of the child to the teachers. However, we beg to differ as the boarding school system teaches children how to be independent, discipline and nurture their social skills.
We visited Epsom College recently and was very impressed with the facilities and the curriculum the school has to offer. Epsom College has a history of over 150 years, it started as the Royal Medical Benevolent College in 1853 by Dr. John Propert. He built a community to support and benefit members of the medical profession and their families by involving benefactors from the medical world to create a fund to support them.
Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandas, CEO of Air Asia, who was himself educated at Epsom College UK and sits at the Chair or Governors at Epsom College Malaysia, says of his Epsom education:-
It taught me ambition, humility and leadership.
Epsom college in Malaysia is Epsom’s first international branch in Asia and sits on a 50 acre site just south of Kuala Lumpur in Bandar Enstek. It is only 10 minutes away from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and is surrounded by vast green sports fields. The school offers the British style of education for students age 11 – 18 years for senior school and 3 – 11 years old for prep school. Inspired by Epsom in UK, the campus in Malaysia will replicate the outstanding education with their team of teachers who bring with them years of experience. The school offer a wide spectrum of activities pushing the students to their maximum potential they can ever achieve. Students living together in the boarding houses will learn to be independent, live in harmony with each other, improve their social and communication skills, hone their time-management and organisational skills.
