ACT 3 DRAMA ACADEMY PRESENTS : MARCH HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS

ACT 3 Drama Academy proudly presents their March 2015 Holiday Workshops – Velveteen Rabbit and other Bunny Tales. The three workshops are based on tales of fuzzy, funny and furry bunnies adapted from much-loved children’s literature.

One-day workshops for 2-year-olds run on selected dates from 18 March to 5 April 2015 while five-day workshops for 3 to 7-year-olds will take place from: 16 to 20 and 23 to 27 March 2015. During the workshops, children will get to know more about a funny baby bunny from The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown, fuzzy toy bunny based on Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale by Mo Willems and the furry toy rabbit from The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams.

ACT 3 Drama Academy’s Artistic Director Ruby Lim-Yang elaborates, “These three stories were carefully selected for their rich narrative and potential for children discover great literature written specifically with them in mind!”.

At the end of the workshops, the young talents will have the wonderful opportunity to showcase what they have learnt in a presentation for parents.

Drama for the March Holiday’s – Workshop Details

You Hide, I’ll Seek
Based on The Runaway Bunny by Margaret Wise Brown For 2 year-olds (with parent)
Packed with action, the tale brings toddlers on an imaginative adventure with a cheeky baby bunny who plays verbal hide-and-seek with mummy rabbit. Encouraging the little ones to express themselves and explore their surroundings, tots will enjoy imagining as they role-play the story. The highly participative workshop helps with parent-child bonding while developing the child’s independence.

Where’s My Toy Rabbit?
Based on Knuffle Bunny: A Cautionary Tale by Mo Willems 3 to 4 year-olds
Relatable and amusing, the story tells of a little girl and how she came to speak her very first words, “Knuffle Bunny!”. Trixie accidentally leaves her favourite toy bunny behind in a washing machine while on an errand to the Laundromat with her father. Unable to speak yet, she attempts to convey her anguish to her dad by kicking up a fuss. Superbly funny, children will have a lark of a time play-acting this story!

Am I For Real?
Based on The Velveteen Rabbit by Margery Williams 5 to 7 year-olds
This heartwarming tale about love and longing introduces children to a toy rabbit that yearns to be a real animal. After a roller-coaster ride of ups and downs, the toy rabbit eventually befriends a fairy who grants him his wish. It is through the eyes of the velveteen rabbit that the young will discover themes such as self-discovery.
