How Bub became a Play Bug in ArtBug

I must say that I am beginning to become more like other parents, ‘Kiasu’- afraid to lose out to the competition.  After all, I am both the father and the mother rolled into one- so that gives me the right and the reason to be ‘kiasu’.   Having said that, I will still try to maintain balance between pushing Bub too hard- developing his talents- and his precious childhood.  Lately, I have been talking to other parents and we all feel that children these days have been pushed too hard- too many enrichment classes- and they are definitely missing out on the carefree benefits of being a child.

I have to constantly remind myself that I have to make sure the classes or learning fun for Bub so that he will enjoy them.  I believe it starts from me, I have to have fun teaching bub or accompany him to ‘play’ at classes or he will sense that it’s a chore me- he will slowly hate it later.  A few weeks back, a friend recommended me to Art Bug which is near my work place so I brought Bub to try out and I was pleasantly surprised that he enjoyed himself so much.

Bubba tried 2 classes that are suitable for his age bracket:

Baby Bug and Play Bug is fun and interactive parent-and-baby experience, designed especially for babies from 12 to 36 months. Throughout the 10 weeks, your baby will be introduced to pro-social skills, motor coordination, communication and enhancing the parent-child bonds. 

Play Bug allows your baby to communicate through movement, art and stories. Together the parent and baby will get involved in music & movement, interactive storytelling and dramatic experiences.

Baby Bug allows your baby to express through play, paint and mark-making tools and materials. Art Bug strongly believes that early exposure to such activities will lead to happier and more self-aware creative children.

There are many classes Art Bug offers which I find very educational for children and I am expecting to bring Bub to more classes as he grows.  I am so looking forward to those precious Bubbamama Happyments while Bub plays more and learn new skills 😉
