This year, The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands (MBS) presented Fashion Week 2013 organised by FIDe Fashion Weeks. This glamorous event ran from 9th October to 19th October 2013 which showcased Men’s Pret-a-porter, Women’s Pret-a-porter and couture collections. Over the course of these dazzling 11 days, guests and fashion industry media were “seduced” and kept enthralled by some of the world’s most iconic and talented designers’ latest collections.

FIDe Fashion Weeks kick-started with Pierre Balmain, it was the first brand to showcase their latest ready-to-wear collection. Pierre Balmain is the “sister” diffusion line from the iconic Balmain house of fashion. The collection was “rocking” with Punk Rock band grunge style whilst still maintaining the clean cut simple DNA of the Balmain Fashion House. Leather was used widely in this collection – from jackets to vests to leggings; together with fish net tops and lots of jeans. This trend is definitely modern yet reminiscent of the grunge rock and roll styles of the 80’s. We felt Pierre Balmain’s independent design team had wonderfully conjured up a totally wearable yet fashion-forward and chic ready-to-wear collection and accessories for men and women.

Next up on the runway to close off the shows on Day 1 of FIDe fashion weeks was the bona fide one-stop designer jeans haven – Bread and Butter! Bread and Butter offers premium denim labels to satisfy all your denim needs and wants. Brands here include Evisu, 7 for all Mankind, Citizens of Humanity, Paige and Replay. If heaven is a place on earth, then guests at the Bread and Butter fashion show were definitely in “denim heaven”. Bread and Butter presented their latest looks from their new collection. We saw jeans in various colours such as maroon, different shades of grey, blue, red, black and even in orange hues. This collection was definitely fun, sporty and easy to mix and match.
