I am sharing this from my dear friend Theresa Tan who is the first person who showed me who an activist is and what it is like to stand for another human being. And in view of International Women’s Day, let’s take a stand for a sister or two here.

Quote from Theresa Tan

Calling all Women (and men) who Make A Difference! Please SHARE this and join in! This March 8 (this Wednesday) We are running a one-off (for now) Call-To-Action for all women and men who love women and girls: our mothers, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, friends, in celebration of International Women’s Day and in protest against abuse of women and girls.

“This past week, old nightmares returned when I read about how MMA instructor and scum-of-the-earth Joshua Robinson sexually assaulted two 15-year-old girls, showed a sex video to a 6-year-old girl, and possessed nearly 6000 pornographic images, more than 300 of which featured sex with children as young as 2.

This comes even as I am fighting my own disgust over a certain US President and his private-part-grabbing antics (and the way he molests his own daughter, euggh).

SO, on 8 March, this Wednesday, will you join me in STANDING UP FOR GIRLS? We will NOT tolerate men preying on and raping our daughters! We will NOT tolerate men showing porn to our babies! We will NOT tolerate abuse and intimidation of women and girls by men!”

8 March is ‘Pussy Hat Day’. If you have a Pussy Hat, would you join me in wearing it throughout the day as a symbol of your protest against abuse of women and girls? If you don’t, would you wear a pink T-shirt or shirt, or dress, or something pink as a sign of solidarity with your sisters?

I’m sure my friends will have something of a pussy hat or pink, or both!

MOST IMPORTANTLY! Take a selfie or wefie and post your photo with the hashtags #standupforgirls #pussyhatday #womensday #protectourdaughters #4x4x4years #sexisnotforlittlegirls #womenmakeadifference
