February is widely known as the month of love, thanks to Valentine’s Day on the 14th. It is always easy for the gentlemen to get a gift for the ladies – a bouquet of roses, a candlelight dinner, and the latest luxury handbag or jewellery.
But what can us ladies give to the man in our life, especially when you have been married for some time, and have a family?
I always opt for the intimacy route, which is to create an evening of intimacy and romance. There is no need to go kinky and wild – a quiet night of cuddling, kissing, and reminding your partner how wonderful he is is worth more than any expensive gift.
A NIGHT TOGETHER
Plan your night well! Get your parents to babysit their grandchild, switch off your handphones and mobile gadgets, stock a bottle of wine or champagne, and commit to focus on only the two of you for the night.
Although many people view dinner as a romantic thing, I find otherwise. Firstly, facing each other across the table hardly promotes physical intimacy. If you sit next to each other, you will be bumping elbows while dealing with your food. Lastly, food gets in the way of talking, since you cannot really talk well with food in your mouth. So get dinner before you start on your night of loving.
At home, apply some Young Living Joy essential oil blend on your heart, neck, ears, temples and wrists. This blend contains 10 oils – Bergamot, Ylang Ylang, Geranium, Rosewood, Lemon, Mandarin, Jasmine, Roman Chamomile, Palmarosa, Rose – that promote feelings of love, self-love, and confidence.
If you have a tub, add a few drops of Joy essential oil blend to the warm water. Sit together, sip your wine or champagne, and stay as long as you wish, cuddling and enjoying being close to each other.
LOVING TOUCH
Is your man a fan of massages? Overcome your shyness and give him a one! Or two, or three…
You may not have the training and experience that a professional spa therapist does but, he will appreciate you more for having made the effort.
A massage oil that is suitable for all skin types is the Sensation massage oil from Young Living. The lovely fragrances of Rosewood, Ylang Ylang, and Jasmine essential oils encourages romantic feelings and brings about relaxation to the mind and body.
What I love about the Sensation massage oil is that pure and natural ingredients used. There are no synthetic fragrances, fillers or additives. Its base is fractionated coconut (cocos nucifera) oil that is odourless, colourless, never goes rancid, does not stain, and washes out easily from clothes and sheets. Together with grape seed, wheat germ, sweet almond, and olive oils, they moisturise the skin with every use.
